As a RYA recognised
training school, 'Sail
Training For You',
offers a complete range
of practical courses
for sail cruising,
from basic introduction
to yachting to the
advanced Yachtmaster
preparation course
- in yachts of various
sizes. Our pricing,
at £420 per person,
reflects:
• low student to tutor ratio (a maximum of 4 students to one tutor) and
the excellent specification and condition of our yachts
It also includes:
• rental of waterproof clothing
• all fuel/gas costs
• meals on board1
• berthing costs2
1 Food for each day of the course is supplied, but the first and last evenings most clients opt to eat ashore at their own cost.
2 Mooring costs at Kip Marina and at 2 other marinas visited during the course are included in the course fee. The remaining two nights are often spent on a mooring buoy or at anchor.
We
have taken care to
ensure that our yachts
are well prepared for
sail training and,
as the courses are
all residential, the
boats are equipped
for your comfort while
living aboard, with
central heating, shower,
fridge, radio/CD player
etc. All our training
yachts are equipped
and maintained to the
highest standards.
We pride ourselves
that our yachts are
amongst the best available
for sail training and
our customers testimonials
indicate that this
is indeed an important
and fundamental feature
of their enjoyment
of their courses.

Chief Instructor, Bill Hagen
Of course, having excellent yachts available for sail training is not in itself enough for an enjoyable few days' instruction aboard! We recognise that the instructor obviously plays a pivotal role and so we have been very careful in our choice of instructors. Although they are all experienced sailors and qualified instructors, we have chosen to look beyond, to those who can make learning great fun.
All our courses operate
within the tidal waters
of the Firth of Clyde.
This a beautiful sailing
area with fine, sheltered,
anchorages and many
natural harbours where
a friendly welcome
always awaits you.
The many islands and
inlets of the estuary
mean that you can always
find a sheltered spot
where you might practice
picking up a mooring
buoy or anchoring for
lunch. The Clyde also
has many marinas to
help you relax at the
end of a day's sailing.
Although we cannot
guarantee you five
days of glorious sunshine,
we believe that this
is one of the best
locations for your
sail training, whether
you are new to sailing
or already an experienced
sailor looking for
formal qualifications.
