The Moody 54 was a huge success from the moment she was unveiled, winning the coveted British Nautical Award in 2000.
Although she has a powerful three spreader rig, careful thought has been
given to ease handling. Standard equipment includes furling for all sails,
electrically powered primary winches and a 10hp bow thruster. Her powerful
sail plan, on Seldens triple spreader rig, includes a cutter rig with self-tacking
stay sail. Stiff, immensely strong, yet light enough to maintain optimum
performance across the full range of ocean cruising conditions, 'Blue' has
been designed without compromise. The balance and power of her underwater
sections and lead keel give superb sail carrying and stability for swift
passage times. The centre-cockpit Moody 54 therefore manages to combine effortless
sailing with luxury, making her a superb, ocean-going cruiser.
Elegantly
appointed throughout, the the raised saloon in 'Blue' is a delight. Spacious
and warm, with central heating/air conditioning throughout, she has an inviting
interior with natural light flooding in through its side and forward facing
windows. 
The
saloon also has a large flat-screen television with DVD player. There are
up to seven comfortable berths, with three generously proportioned private
cabins. The spacious owner’s stateroom includes full en-suite facilities,
a separate shower enclosure and generous wardrobe space.
The large galley is fully equipped with all the catering and refrigeration
facilities necessary for long periods at sea. There is also a large and highly
functional chart area and the yacht has state-of-the-art navigation and safety
systems.
The Moody 54 is a perfect platform for corporate entertainment, team building sailing events and luxury cruises. 'Blue' is coded to meet the stringent MCA standards for commercial charter. She takes up to twelve guests plus skipper and first mate/hostess on day sails.
