Charter
For You's vision is to offer a range of packages, the minimum of which is
a modern, safe, clean and comfortable yacht. Perhaps that minimum package
is all that you need to explore our beautiful, yet sheltered cruising ground!
Charter For You have new yachts supplied
by leading European manufacturers, including the German manufacturer, 'Bavaria
Yachts', which range from 34 to over 50 ft in length. The basic yachts have
then been fitted out to the highest standards for your safety, comfort and
convenience. For example, our Bavaria yachts all have the deep lead/antimony
keel option to enhance stability and windward performance, whilst the mainsail
is stowed and zipped, with minimum fuss, in our mainsail packing system.
Inside the yacht we haven't forgotten your home comforts - the specification
is huge, including showers, programmable central heating, fridge, radio/CD
player etc. Of course each yacht is fitted with state-of-the-art electronic
navigation systems, supplemented by traditional charts for those who
prefer the time-honoured techniques of navigation. Gas alarms, smoke
detectors, liferafts, lifejackets, harness lines - it's there for your
safety and it's all so easy to use.
We believe that these sort of features provided on a modern, clean, well founded yacht will afford you the best possible start to your Scottish cruising holiday. But remember, this is just the minimum package that Charter For You offer. We will help you to customise your charter in many ways, for example, we can pick you up from Glasgow airport and even offer additional and spectacular shore-side accommodation. Charter For You is just that, yachting holidays in Scotland customised to meet your needs.
Fantastic Location
Well, some say this is our forte. The Kip
Marina in Inverkip, near the Loch
Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, is itself a wonderful location
to spend some time. There are many beautiful and fascinating local attractions
(see details here) - you could spend
a great week visiting them, but you are probably itching to set sail.
On your doorstep are the Firth of Clyde and its sea lochs. You may take
a leisurely sail southwards towards the island of Great Cumbrae or the
Island of Bute and pick up a mooring buoy for the evening. Tomorrow you
may stop for lunch, or longer, at the famous Kyles of Bute before heading
down the West Kyle and over to East Loch Tarbert, one of our favourite
West Coast haunts, for the night.
Next day you might decide to venture further up Loch Fyne and pick up a
mooring buoy of one of the fine restaurants up there, or you may well decide
to head for the Kintyre peninsula or the mainland on the eastern side,
with marinas at Largs, Troon, etc. The choice is immense and we haven't
even mentioned the Hebridean islands. There's Arran in the Firth of Clyde
with its major anchorages (visitor buoys) at Lamlash, Brodick and Lochranza.
Beyond are Gigha, Islay, Colonsay, to name just three - you'll find that
you're spoiled for choice. I've sailed here for most of my life and am
still amazed by the beauty and tranquillity of the sailing in these waters.
Great Skippers
Charter For You have carefully selected a highly experienced group of
skippers and instructors. They are all highly qualified sailors and instructors
who know these waters well, love sailing, are devoted to sail training
and, importantly, are fun to sail with. Whilst our subsidiary, Sail Training
For You, offers RYA recognised sail cruising courses, the same instructors
are available to skipper your yacht, should you decide to opt for a skipper
to guide you through the waters of the West of Scotland.
